El Mercatel 2026 – 12 aprile / El Mercatel 2026 - April 12th

Allora, ho passato gran parte della settimana a prepararmi per El Mercatel di questa domenica. Come avevo previsto nel mio ultimo post, molte delle mie piantine sono pronte per la vendita ed è abbastanza caldo da poter portare fuori le piante da appartamento, i cactus e altre succulente. E poi… problemi familiari significano che dovrò restare a casa. Niente di grave, solo un po’ di influenza, ma non posso assentarmi per un lungo periodo. Pazienza, la seconda sessione del mese è domenica prossima (19 aprile) e tutte le piante staranno benissimo fino ad allora – e forse ce ne saranno anche alcune in più. Pubblicherò alcune foto di ciò che venderò più avanti nella prossima settimana.

Peccato, perché le previsioni danno una giornata calda e soleggiata, e non vedevo l’ora di passare una giornata all’aperto, osservando gli anatroccoli e incontrando alcuni dei nuovi partecipanti che si sono uniti al mercato. Quindi, se avete in programma una passeggiata lungo il canale, non perdetela. Ci saranno molte bancarelle da curiosare e il glicine intorno alla Cassina De Pomm è assolutamente da vedere.

E spero di vedervi tutti domenica prossima — a meno che non mi venga l’influenza anche a me!

Well, I've spent most of the week getting ready for El Mercatel this Sunday. As I predicted in my last post, quite a lot of my seedlings are ready for sale and it's warm enough to bring out houseplants and cati and other succulents. And then.... family problems mean I'll need to stay at home. Nothing serious, just a dose of influenza, but I can't be away for a long period. Never mind, the second session of the month is next Sunday (April 19th) and all the plants will be fine until then - and possibly a few more. I'll post some photos of what I'll be selling later on next week.

A pity, because the forecast is for a warm sunny day, and I was looking forward to a day outside, watching the ducklings and meeting some of the new participants who've joined the market. So if you've planned a walk down the canal, don't miss it. There will be plenty of stalls to browse around and the wisteria around the Cassina De Pomm is a must-see.

And I hope to see you all next Sunday - if I haven't gone down with the 'flu myself that is!
