Domenica 7 settembre si è svolta la prima edizione autunnale di El Mercatel su la Martesana. È stata una splendida giornata di sole, con temperature tornate a livelli estivi, e al mattino tanta gente è venuta a fare una passeggiata e a curiosare tra le bancarelle (dal viale Rimembranze di Greco, al ponte sul naviglio, fino alla Cassina de’ Pomm in via Melchiorre Gioia).
Tutti quelli che si sono fermati al mio banco hanno detto esattamente la stessa cosa: «Ho perso tutte le mie piante con il caldo e durante le vacanze, quindi mi servono nuove piante per il balcone». Così, a ora di pranzo, avevo già venduto tutte le piante da balcone più richieste. Ma non preoccupatevi: ne ho ancora tante pronte a casa per la prossima edizione del 14 settembre.
Che vi servano piante da interno, da davanzale o da balcone, ne avrò moltissime in vendita. Segnatevi la data in agenda!
Sunday 7 September saw the first autumn session of El Mercatel su la Martesana. It was a lovely sunny day with temperatures back to summer levels, and in the morning lots of people came for a walk and to have a look at all the stalls (from viale Rimembranze di Greco (the bridge over the canal) to the Cassina de’ Pomm in via Melchiorre Gioia). Everyone who stopped at my stall said exactly the same thing, " I lost all my plants in the heat and during the holidays, so I need new ones for the balcony", and by lunchtime I'd sold all of the most popular balcony plants (but don't worry - I've got plenty more at home ready for the next session on September 14th). Whether you want houseplants or plants for a windowsill or balcony outside, I'll have plenty on offer. Put the date in your diary!
E naturalmente c'erano anche tante altre bancarelle da curiosare; bancarelle sia con articoli vintage che moderni: dai gioielli, borse e vestiti fatti a mano ai dischi in vinile e libri di seconda mano, fino a oggetti da collezione come poster cinematografici, monete e fumetti.
And of course, there were all the other stalls to browse around too. You could find both vintage and modern items, from handmade jewellery, bags and clothes to vinyl records and second hand books to collectors items such as film posters, coins and comic books.
