This Sunday's weather provided perfect conditions for the market - around 26°C all day, so warm but not hot, meaning that not only us stallholders were comfortable, but also that lots of people came out for a Sunday walk. Lovely to see all of you who stopped to buy or simply to chat.
The market is something I've only been involved in since I retired - and is nothing like what I did previously as a teacher trainer. So I'm learning something every week. Probably the most important thing that I've discovered is the unpredictability of the sales. OK - sometimes the reasons are obvious. like the fact that I sold lots of greetings cards just before Easter. But other weeks take me by surprise. Up to now, my main sales have been of small indoor plants. This Sunday everyone wanted the large ones. So I'll always be bringing a variety of plants and other goods to the market and gradually, I'll be posting a list on this blog of everything I have for sale. As I have to transport everything by hand, there's no way I can bring everything. So if you see anything here that you are particularly interested in, just leave a message in the comments box telling me what you want and when you'll be coming. I'll make sure it's there and save it till you arrive.

Il tempo di questa domenica ha fornito condizioni perfette per il mercato, intorno ai 26°C per tutto il giorno, quindi caldo ma non troppo. Il che significa che non solo noi venditori ambulanti ci siamo sentiti a nostro agio, ma anche che molte persone sono uscite per una passeggiata domenicale. È stato bello vedere tutti voi che vi siete fermati per comprare o semplicemente per chiacchierare.
Ho cominciato a partecipare al mercato solo dopo il mio pensionamento - ed è completamente diverso da quello che facevo in precedenza come insegnante d'inglese. Quindi sto imparando qualcosa di nuovo ogni settimana. Probabilmente la cosa più importante che ho scoperto è l'imprevedibilità delle vendite. OK - a volte le ragioni sono ovvie, come il fatto che ho venduto molte cartoline di auguri poco prima di Pasqua. Ma altre settimane mi sorprendono. Fino ad ora, le mie vendite principali sono state delle piccole piante da interno. Questa domenica tutti volevano quelle grandi. Quindi porterò sempre una varietà di piante e altri prodotti al mercato. Gradualmente, pubblicherò su questo blog un elenco di tutto ciò che ho in vendita. Dato che devo trasportare tutto a mano, non posso portare tutto. Quindi, se vedete qualcosa qui che vi interessa particolarmente, lasciate un messaggio nella casella dei commenti dicendomi cosa desiderate e quando passerete. Mi assicurerò che ci sia e lo terrò da parte fino a quando arriverete.
