When will the next Mercatel be? Weather permitting (and at the moment the forecast is uncertain) it will be on Sunday May 5. After the nice weather we had for the market on April 17th, the temperature dropped so radically that, unfortunately, it's delayed the growth of the seedlings I'd planted, and so there are a few plants (like my tomatoes and calendula) that I'd expected to be ready but will now have to wait for another couple of weeks. Luckily, the forecast predicts a rise to more normal temperatures for the time of year next week, so hopefully things will take off again.

Dopo il bel tempo che abbiamo avuto il 17 aprile, la temperatura è scesa così drasticamente che, purtroppo, ha ritardato la crescita dei germogli che avevo piantato, quindi ci sono alcune piante (come i pomodori e le calendule) che mi aspettavo fossero pronte ma che dovranno ora attendere un altro paio di settimane. Per fortuna, le previsioni prevedono un aumento delle temperature ad un livello più normale per questo periodo dell'anno la prossima settimana, quindi speriamo che le cose ripartano di nuovo.

I have a lot of vegetables ready that can be cultivated in a garden, allotment or even on a balcony (which is where I grow my own) - dwarf peas, aubergines, cucumbers, zucchini, and peppers - and the weather should be warm enough to bring out some houseplants, like the aglaonema in the photo below. And of course, there will be all my regular items - including some new seeds (flowers and vegetables) to be sown between May and June.

Ho un sacco di verdure pronte che possono essere coltivate in un giardino, in un orto o anche su un balcone (che è dove coltivo le mie) - piselli nani, melanzane, cetrioli, zucchine e peperoni. Inoltre, secondo le previsioni del tempo, la temperatura sarà abbastanza calda per portare fuori alcune piante da interno, ad esempio l'aglaonema nella foto. E naturalmente, ci saranno tutti i miei articoli abituali, inclusi alcuni nuovi semi (fiori e verdure) da piantare tra maggio e giugno. 

The aglaonema would be a perfect gift for Mothers Day on May 12th. Or if your mother isn't a fan of houseplants, what about one of these lovely georgette scarves? And of course one of our greetings cards - left blank for your own message whether it's for Mother's Day, a birthday or whatever.

Oppure, se tua madre non è appassionata di piante da interno, che ne dici di queste belle sciarpe di georgette? E naturalmente uno dei nostri biglietti d'auguri - senza messaggio, in modo che possano essere usati per la Festa della Mamma, un compleanno o qualsiasi altra occasione.
